Privacy Policy

What Serendai keeps, and why.

Version 2026-11-01 · Effective [[EFFECTIVE_DATE]]

  • Serendai is invitation-only and is for people at least 18 years old.
  • To make suggestions, Serendai stores what you tell it and sends the relevant parts to the AI, map, and event services listed below. We don't sell your information, show ads, or use third-party analytics or tracking.
  • Your device's precise location is used only for the request you make. It isn't stored.
  • You can review and delete memories and moments, and delete your whole account at any time from Account.

Who we are

Serendai is operated by [[LEGAL_ENTITY]](“we”, “us”). Questions and requests: [[CONTACT_EMAIL]]. This policy covers the Serendai app. The Serendai website's founding-list form has its own notice.

What we collect

Your account

Your email address (to send sign-in links and identify your account), the invite that lets you in, and when you accepted these documents, including which version.

What you tell Serendai

  • The text you type: vents, asks, and plan requests. Daily requests are saved with their moment; Radar and plan requests are used to answer you, and only the results are saved.
  • The city or area you type, places and people you mention, and anything you add when you check in.
  • Home and work places you save: a label, a city, an approximate map point we look up for it, and your free times.
  • Your quick calibration answers (energy, budget, company).
  • Photos you add to a reflection. A photo is sent to our AI provider to write your reflection; the image itself is not stored, only the text reflection.

What Serendai creates for you

Suggestions (“moments”) and their details, including a draft text message and the recipient's name when a suggestion involves texting someone; memory notes and patterns it learns about you (some notes quote your own words); plans; and scheduled-nudge results.

Location

If you allow it in your browser, Serendai uses your device's location for the request you're making (a Daily nudge, a Radar scan, or a plan). It is not stored. You can say no and type a city or area instead. The only map points Serendai stores are the approximate points for home and work places you choose to save.

Notifications, only if you turn them on

Your browser's push subscription (encrypted before it's stored), your time zone and delivery window, your on/off choices, and delivery receipts (sent, delivered, displayed, opened).

Sharing, only if you create a share link

The card you chose to share (including the recipient name you typed), its expiry, and whether the recipient accepted or declined. The link itself is stored only as a keyed fingerprint.

Usage metrics

Counts and timings of things like requests, results, and notifications, tied to your account. They contain none of your text, places, or locations.

Payments

Serendai doesn't charge you during this preview. If paid plans are offered and you start a checkout, we store your Stripe customer and subscription IDs and your plan status, never your card details.

In your browser

Sign-in cookies that keep you signed in (including a one-hour cookie that ties a sign-in link to the browser where you accepted these documents), and session storage that remembers your latest Daily request and result (and any display setting) until you close the tab. If you turn on notifications, your browser also installs a small background script whose only job is to show them. No advertising or analytics cookies.

How we use it

  • To create your suggestions, plans, and reflections, and to personalize them using your memory, past moments, and calibration, except where you've opted out as described under Your controls.
  • To send scheduled nudges if you turn them on. At your chosen times, Serendai prepares a suggestion for you using your saved memory and home/work places. That moment is saved like any other.
  • To run sign-in, keep Serendai secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
  • To understand how Serendai is used, from the content-free metrics above.
  • If a Daily request suggests you may be in crisis, Serendai shows crisis resources instead of a suggestion. It doesn't save that request or learn from it.

We don't sell your personal information. We don't share it for advertising. We don't use your content to train AI models.

Who we share it with

We use these service providers to run Serendai. Each gets only what the feature you're using needs, and each handles it under its own terms.

Microsoft Azure OpenAIThe AI that writes suggestions, plans, reflections, and memory notes, and screens Daily requests for crisis and safety. Receives: The text you type, relevant memory notes and recent moment summaries, the city or area you give, people and constraints you name for a plan, your calibration answers, local weather, and any photo you add to a reflection. Not your device coordinates.
Microsoft Azure MapsWeather and location lookups. Receives: The city, area, or home/work place you type (to find it on the map), and coordinates (your device's or a saved place's) for the local weather.
Google Maps Platform (Places, Geocoding, Time Zone, Routes)Checking that suggested places exist and are operating, and building routed plans. Receives: Venue names and their area; for plans, your starting point (device coordinates or the address you type), the search area, and the stops to route between.
TicketmasterFinding events. Receives: An approximate location (about 150 m) for Radar, or a plan's starting coordinates; a search radius; keywords; and dates.
SerpApi and Tavily (only when we switch them on)Finding local happenings on the web. Receives: An event search phrase, an area, and dates. Not your account details.
SupabaseOur database and sign-in provider. It sends your sign-in emails. Receives: Everything Serendai stores (described above), your email address, and your sign-in activity.
VercelHosts the app and runs scheduled jobs. Receives: Every request you make, including your IP address and browser details.
Stripe (only if you start a checkout)Payments. Receives: Your Serendai account ID and the plan. Stripe collects your payment details directly; we never see your card.
Your browser's push service (for example Apple, Google, or Mozilla), only if you turn notifications onDelivers notifications to your device. Receives: An encrypted notification that says only “A new moment is ready.” (or, for the morning Daily, “Your move for today is one tap away.”) and links back to Serendai.

People you share with see only the card you chose, and only while its link is active. Serendai never texts or emails anyone for you, and never books, buys, or changes your calendar. A draft text, a calendar file, or a booking link opens only when you choose to use it. Beyond the providers above, we'll disclose information only if the law requires it or to protect someone from serious harm.

Your controls

  • Private for this moment.Serendai still processes that request, including with our AI provider, and may use what it already knows about you to answer it. It keeps the moment in your account, labeled private. It won't save new memory from it, use it to personalize later suggestions or scheduled nudges, let it be shared, or count it in metrics.
  • Memory. On Memoryyou can see what Serendai remembers, tell it not to use a note, or delete notes and patterns. Deleting a note doesn't delete the moment it came from.
  • Collection. On Collectionyou can mark a completed moment “Don't use” or “Make private”, or delete it permanently. Deleting a moment doesn't delete memory notes already learned from it; delete those on Memory. Pending, skipped, and Radar moments can't be deleted one by one yet. Serendai keeps only your newest 200 moments, and deleting your account removes them all.
  • Location. Your browser asks before sharing your location, and you can change that in your browser settings.
  • Notifications. Pause or turn them off anytime in notification settings. This also stops scheduled nudges.
  • Share links. You can revoke a link at any time. Every link stops working after 7 days.

Deleting your account, and how long we keep things

We keep your information while your account exists, unless you delete it sooner or newer data replaces it (for example, only your newest 200 moments are kept).

Account → Delete my accountremoves, in one step, everything Serendai stores for you: memory, moments, plans, settings, notification subscriptions and results, share links and replies, usage metrics, the billing records we hold, your invite, and your record of accepting these documents. Then your sign-in account is removed. If something fails partway, Serendai tells you exactly what was and wasn't deleted, and you can try again.

Some things can remain after deletion:

  • Copies in database backups, until those backups expire or are deleted.
  • Records our providers keep under their own policies, such as our sign-in provider's security logs, our host's request logs, and Stripe's payment records if you ever paid.
  • A record that a payment event was processed. It contains an event ID and a fingerprint, with no content.
  • Anything you already copied or shared outside Serendai.
  • Your entry on the separate website founding list, if you joined it. Ask us to remove it.

Serendai won't delete an account while a paid subscription is still active. Cancel it first, so you aren't charged after your account is gone.

Security

Access controls limit each account to its own data. Connections are encrypted in transit. Notification subscriptions are encrypted before they're stored. Share links are stored only as keyed fingerprints. No system is perfectly secure; if you suspect a problem, tell us at [[CONTACT_EMAIL]].

Minimum age

Accounts are for people at least 18 years old (see the Terms). We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 18 is using Serendai, contact [[CONTACT_EMAIL]]and we'll delete the account.

Where information is processed

Our providers may process and store information in the United States and in other countries where they operate.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or get a copy of your information, and to object to or limit some uses. You can review and delete much of it yourself in Serendai, and you can delete your account at any time. For anything else, email [[CONTACT_EMAIL]]. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the version and date above. Before you can keep using Serendai, you'll be asked to accept the new version by signing in again with an email link. You can still delete your account without accepting it. See also our Terms.
